Process

Patchwork is the stitching together of small pieces of fabric to create patterns, and was originally used as a means of recycling off-cuts of fabric from larger projects, such as dress making.

Each piece of fabric is cut and marked by hand, before being individually machine stitched together. The cushion designs can have up to 80 different pieces of fabric in them, and quilts over 1000, making this a labour-intensive process.
