Antique American Quilt Stocking

Handmade in my London Studio using an antique hand-sewn American patchwork quilt top.

Each stocking from this collection is truly one of a kind.

The red and ivory fabric is early C20th handloomed cotton from France. The original piece of fabric being 80cm wide is typical sizing of pre-mass-production when looms were under one metre/yard wide.

Due to the age and delicate nature of the fabric, I reinforced the patchwork with wadding and a contrast red stitching.

Fully lined with white vintage cotton, backed in blue cotton ticking and trimmed with a ric-rac ribbon hanging loop.

A truly timeless stocking for young or old.

Finished size approx. 56cm x 36cm

Please note there may be some age-related stains on the vintage and antique fabrics, which I personally think only add to the charm.
