Every item is handmade by me, Kate Owen, and each item listed will have details of the origins of its materials.
All quilts and cushions are made from 100% cotton, certified to be free from harmful substances. Quilts are filled with 100% unbleached cotton wadding.
The cushion pads I use are filled with deluxe European duck feathers. The feathers used are a by-product of the food industry and never come from live birds.
Many of the special items, such as ornaments and stockings, are made using a mixture of offcuts, reclaimed fabrics, and fashion industry excess.
Having worked as a Fabric Buyer in the fashion industry for the past decade, I have seen first hand how much fabric is leftover and wasted from the garment industry, and I love finding beautiful uses for remnants and scraps.
